Our Mission and Story

We are a survivor-founded initiative based in British Columbia, created to support those who’ve experienced spiritual abuse in faith-based communities.

We are a nonprofit support network for survivors of spiritual abuse across British Columbia. We provide trauma-informed resources including emergency help, counseling referrals, peer support intake, and anonymous story submission. Our work includes public education, storytelling campaigns, and advocacy for safer systems in churches and communities. Survivor-led, focused on safety, empowerment, and systemic change.

Why We Exist.

Spiritual abuse is real — and often hidden behind titles like “discipleship,” “submission,” or “accountability.”
We’ve seen the harm it can cause: confusion, isolation, fear, shame. We’re here to help name it, challenge it, and walk alongside those trying to heal from it.  We exist to say: you’re not crazy, you’re not alone, and you deserve support. Our work is about visibility, validation, and healing — on your terms.

      Our mission is to:

  • Provide accessible, trauma-informed support

  • Amplify survivor stories without exploiting them

  • Advocate for systems that protect, not control

Our Core Values.

This might end up being a short video, or maybe just a small description of what values guide us. Either way, the purpose is to let people sus out our vibe.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what values guide me in how I walk through the world. For a long time, my spirituality got tangled up in the institution, with pressure and control. Now I’m stripping it all back. Starting from scratch. Figuring out what I believe and what I value.

Meet the team and learn how we are structured

We are survivors, advocates, therapists, and truth-tellers — people who’ve been in it and people who walked others through it.
We operate as a small leadership circle grounded in safety, accountability, and shared decision-making.

Example:

  • Jess – trauma therapist, team advisor

  • [Name/Initials] – legal consultant (optional)

  • [Name] – digital story & intake support
Some members remain unnamed for privacy and safety.

  • The visual to the right actually has much more detail describing the structure of how the non profit runs and makes decisions etc.  Leadership is not the word and its not the vibe.  This is representing the core circle of decision makers who hold equal space - with branching off shoots ("action pods" or working groups) and the soil being the community of people, their stories, ideas and feedback who play a part in the growth of this non-profit growth and impact
